The JV Wildcat Softball team had another incredible week of softball, winning 5 of their 6 games and scoring 59 runs!
Here is the rundown :
Monday: 9-5 home victory over Milford. Junior Ashlee Roell picked up the pitching victory.
Hitting Leaders with multiple hits were Peyton Tye (4), Addie Lemmel (3), Morgan Aller 2B, Raygen Nowlin (2) including an electric inside-the-park home run.
Tuesday: 8-4 road victory over Fairfield JV. The pitching victory went to Josie Harness who struck out 7 hitters. Harness also had 2 hits, Addie Lemmel had 2 with a triple, and freshman Payton Tye had the game winning hit. It was a 3-run bomb homer over the center field fence.
Wednesday: 18-1 run run-rule victory over Fairfield JV Red team. Pitcher Ashlee Roell got the victory, striking out 6 batters. Wildcats with multiple hits were: Morgan Aller (3) 2B, P. Tye (2), R. Nowlin (3), A. Lemmel (3), M. Kissing (3), A. Kramer (2), S. Viltro (2), and S. Schroff scored 4 runs.
Friday: 4-3 road victory over New Richmond. Pitcher Josie Harness went the distance, striking out 11 Lions and mashing the game winning hit as well. Multi-hit Wildcats were: J. Harness (2) 2B, M. Aller (3) 2B & 3B, S.Schroff (2), P. Tye 2B. It is noteworthy that due to 2 injuries during the game, the Wildcats played the last three innings with only eight players in the field.
Saturday Double Header: Game One was a 6-3 loss to strong 12-1 Little Miami team. The Cats only managed 4 hits. P. Tye (2) 3B, A. Lemmel (2B).
Saturday Game Two: 17-12 win over Centerville. Josie Harness picked up the win in relief, striking out 7 in 3 innings. It was a great comeback win with the Wildcats scoring ten runs in the 6th inning. First base person Aliyah Breezely had two hits in that inning, including an inside-the-park home run. She finished the game with 3 hits and 6 RBI. P. Tye had (4) hits, Ashlee Roell (2), M. Kissing 3B.
The Wildcats will finish up the season this week. Opponents include Ross (Tuesday), East Central (Wednesday), and St. Ursula at home this Thursday. Go Wildcats!
